Hospitals & Health Centers

The University of Michigan Hospitals & Health Centers (UMHHC) offer a variety of parking options for patients and visitors.

Hours of Operation

University Hospital/Taubman Center Parking Structure (Parking A) East Medical Center Drive

Parking A is located next to the front entrance of University Hospital and is open 24 hours, 7 days a week. The structure is staffed by parking attendants.

Cancer Center Parking Structure (Parking B) West Medical Center Drive

Parking B is located next to the Cancer Center and is intended for use by Cancer Center patients and the family and friends who accompany them to appointments. The structure is open 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and closed Sunday.

Cardiovascular Center Parking Structure (Parking C) Ann Street at Observatory Street

Patient/Visitor Parking Rates

Unstamped ticket (charged to general public, sale reps, contractors, temporary employees, staff, etc.):

  • $2.00 for first hour
  • $1.00 for each additional hour
  • $10.00 maximum for 24 hours

Stamped ticket (for patients, inpatient visitors):

  • $1.00 for first hour
  • $2.00 More than one hour to 24 hours maximum

To get your ticket stamped: take your ticket to the inpatient or outpatient unit visited, or to a Hospital Information Desk, for validating. Effective 10/1/06, at Mott Hospital, validation of tickets will be done at Visitor Badging Stations. Please note that there is still a parking fee for stamped tickets, but it is lower than the normal fee. Payment of the parking fee is required upon exit.

Inpatient Visitor Parking Pass

Frequent visitors to inpatient units may request a pre-approved parking pass from the inpatient unit (nurse, clerk or social worker) which will limit the daily parking expense to the stamped ticket rate. After that daily rate is paid, the visitor can come and go multiple times during the day and needs only to present the pass and the receipt of payment to the parking attendant for a free exit. Passes may be issued for a maximum of 14 calendar days. After that, you must request a new pass.

Fletcher Structure Patient Parking

At Fletcher Structure, a restricted cashier-attended parking operation is available exclusively for patients of the School of Dentistry and University Health Service from 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. You must have your parking ticket validated at the clinic(s) in order to prove patient status. Violators are fined $25 in addition to the parking fee.
